Bill Freer and Mary Martin are the principals of Digital Bistro. However, had our lives taken a different twist, we might have been the principals of some junior high school in Cleveland, where we met as English and Art teachers in 1970.
Fate brought us both to J. Walter Thompson in Chicago. Mary became an Art Director, Bill a copywriter. Later, Bill's career moved him from Ketchum to his own agency, then to Marketing Support. Mary's career took her from JWT to Leo Burnett. Then fate again, to Marketing Support.
One day, while sitting by a pool in Palm Springs, Bill said, "How do you like the name Digital Bistro?" Soon we left big fancy agencies and big fancy titles. Now we're just "Creative Guy" and "Art Queen". And yes, Mary does have a crown.
